The KUHN range of single rotor rakes extends with the launch of the GA 3901, GA 4201 and GA 4401. They complete the range of single rotor models with working widths of 3.90, 4.20 and 4.40m. The innovative drive design ensures windrow delivery to the right: a clear benefit in terms of comfort for the user. Designed for small-size tractors working in hilly areas, particular care was given to reducing the weight and good ergonomics. Two powerful springs with brake ensure excellent recentring when raising the machine on headlands. These two springs contribute to the perfect hold of the rake when driving on poorly maintained paths. For a good maneouvrability on narrow plots or on bends, the headstock pivots up to 48°! An asset to prevent the wheels from damaging the sward.

Well adapted to small-size tractors

The machine's limited weight, compactness and good stability contribute to its excellent behaviour even with small-size tractors. The low machine weight allows safe use by small-size tractors even on slopes.

The best stability on bends and slopes

Two effective spring stabilizers are located between the beam and the headstock.They improve the behaviour on bends and support the weight of the rake during transport. Also during transport, the position of the dampers form a triangulation beneficial to the good frame hold. The rake is in line on slopes owing to the drift compensation. Recentring is smooth and safe when the lift linkage is raised, even on slopes up to an angle of 25°.

New headstock design

The new headstock design allows a 48° travel range: one of the largest angular travel range in this category of machines. Driving on bends is easier, drift is prevented and the sward protected.

A high number of tine arms

To allow collecting forage over the whole raking width, the GA 3901, GA 4201 and GA 4401 rakes are fitted with 10, 11 and 12 tine arms respectively. This significant number of arms is a pre-requisite for quality raking. These tine arms are mounted in hyper tangential position, meaning they can reach an angle of 90° very late. Combined with a steep tine cam gradient, the tine clearance is fast, at a later stage and requires little rotation effort. Formed windrows are more regular, voluminous and straight. Windrowing quality is improved even at high speed, (forage is not pushed outside the windrow).

Tines in heat treated steels

Tines smoothly rake even heavy and dense forage. They are made of heat treated steel for optimum service life and increased resistance to fatigue. The "floating" attachment of the tines and the three large diameter coils reduce wear risk. Moreover, the tine height is precisely controlled for sward and forage preservation.

High ground clearance in headland turn position

With the same tractor and setting, the ground clearance is high (over 40 cm). Cross over windrows without damaging them.
The clearance exceeding 40cm allows preserving the windrows, and crossing over windrows without damaging them.

Preserved comfort of use

The windrow is delivered to the right, which improves the user's comfort at work.

Improved ergonomics

The rotor casing has been designed to deliver the windrow to the right, a significant benefit for comfort at work. This specific design positions the input shaft underneath the gearwheel, the rotor's direction of rotation allows forming the windrow to the machine's right side.

Ease of setting

The height adjustment crank is accessible from the tractor's seat. The setting can be adjusted even when the machine rests on its wheels owing to the particular gear ratio of the mechanism.
